About
#21877 Sophie Delfeus was introduced to Camp Dudley and Camp Kiniya through #21219 Jane Lee, a mentor who encouraged her to embrace new experiences. Kiniya became the place where she awakened her adventurous spirit. She served as an Aide, JL, and Leader and remains greatly inspired by #20176 Laurel Henderson, who demonstrated how to nurture diverse leadership styles. For Sophie, Camp has been instrumental in shaping her sense of purpose.
Sophie spent her fourth summer at camp in 2024 serving as Head of Community Development during Camp Kiniya’s second session. During her Kiwi summer, she supported both campers and team members in finding their footing while leading initiatives to strengthen the Camp community. Her brothers, #22677 Luke and #22577 Peter, attended Camp Dudley for two and three summers, respectively.
Sophie currently leads Cultivating the Collective, a consulting firm serving nonprofits and colleges in stakeholder alignment. She is committed to supporting organizations in building and strengthening programs that support their teams and constituents. She graduated from Amherst College with a BA in political science in 2017 and currently lives in Queens, NY.
For Sophie, joining the Board of Trustees presents an opportunity to give back to the community that has played such a pivotal role in her growth.
