About
Ryen Herrmann, a dedicated advocate for youth development, joins the Kiniya team as Head of Leadership. Her passion for empowering girls and young women to reach their full potential aligns seamlessly with Kiniya’s mission. Ryen brings a diverse background in education and experiential training to this role, including studies at The Hotchkiss School, Bucknell University, and a Master’s degree from the New York School of Interior Design. She has further honed her skills in youth development and leadership through certifications and training programs at the University of Vermont (group fitness and mindfulness instruction), Exhale (fitness and wellness instruction), The Academy at Swift River (wilderness counseling), and The Anasazi Foundation (outdoor wilderness training).
Ryen believes in the transformative power of mindfulness and recognizes the importance of equipping young people to navigate the evolving social and environmental landscape. She views youth as vital influencers and teachers within their communities. Her background in visual design has cultivated a keen ability to observe and understand the complex interplay between individuals and their environment. Ryen is committed to leveraging the power of artistry, collaborative partnerships, and creativity to develop strategies that foster deeper engagement, raise awareness, and inspire direct action. She is particularly interested in how these strategies can be applied to leadership development programs for young women.
Beyond her work at Kiniya, Ryen enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, twin daughters and a son. She also continues to pursue her interests in fitness and mindfulness instruction, design projects, and community engagement.
