George Matthews, #16200
Stamford, CT
About
George first came to Camp as a Cub in 1994 in time to experience Willie Schmidt’s final summer as Camp Director. George returned to Dudley for five subsequent summers as a Plebe, Junior, Senior, Aide, and Junior Leader. George’s first two summers at Camp were particularly formative and incredibly rewarding for him. “Camp is a rare place where young people have the opportunity and freedom to be themselves in an inclusive community that develops their character and leadership skills.” One of George’s only regrets about Camp was choosing to skip returning as a leader in 2001. He thoroughly enjoys helping Dudley and Kiniya deliver the unique Camp experience to subsequent generations of campers.
George grew up in Buffalo, New York, and graduated from Brown University where some of his close friends were people whom he knew from Camp. George has spent his career in financial services. He is an Executive Director in Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley in New York. George and his wife, Najla, reside in Stamford, CT, with their son and daughter.
