Health & Safety
The health and well being of your child is the most important thing to us during his or her time here at camp. To that end we have a trained staff to support each camper throughout the summer. All of our leaders are trained in Emergency First Response, First Aid and CPR. We also have partnered with the nation’s leading organization focusing on child sexual abuse, Darkness to Light to train each and every leader and staff member at camp. Each leader gets extensive training on homesickness, bullying, hygiene, ADHD behaviors and wilderness safety during our 10 day training program. We are also leading the way in the camping industry by adding a Clinical Social Worker to our year round team. To read our Hiring Policy click here. We are 12 miles from the Elizabethtown Hospital and 38 miles from the Plattsburgh Hospital. All necessary medications are administered on site. Please click here to read more about our Health Center.
At Kiniya, our infirmary has a full time nursing staff as well, and for cases that require additional treatment, Fletcher Allen Medical Center is located in Burlington, VT, 15 minutes from camp. Please click here to read more about our Health Center.
