Kiniya’s Director & Leaders
Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Marnie came to the United States in 1994, when the opportunity to work as a waterski instructor at Kiniya presented itself. She responded with great enthusiasm and joined the Kiniya team that summer. Since then, she has risen through the Leadership ranks as Head Counselor, Program Director, Assistant Director and, in 2006, was named the Director. Serving on the Vermont Camp Association Board and actively involved with The American Camp Association as an Accreditation Visitor, Marnie believes strongly in the benefits of the Camping Institution and considers Kiniya to be the best possible environment for character development and confidence-building in girls.
Each year we hire a talented group of college-aged young women to lead our campers in finding great success at Camp. More often than not, all of these young women have completed three summers in the leadership development program at Kiniya and know our program extremely well. Not only have they been in training for this role for three summers, they have also, in most cases, been a camper at Kiniya. This is a very selective job at Kiniya and is very competitive as we only have 16 spots each summer.
