Support our Annual Fund

alumni

Our camps are fortunate to enjoy a diverse set of funding sources which help keep us strong. We can’t deliver the excellent camp program that parents and alumni expect solely through tuition fees. More is necessary to bridge the gap between tuition and the real cost of funding a camper’s overall experience.

That’s where the Annual Fund comes in. Every gift is meaningful, from a first year camper sending their allowance to a 75-year veteran sending a gift of stock.

The target for the 2016 Annual Fund is $825,000, an ambitious goal, but an essential investment. Equally important is the goal of continuing to expand the number of individuals who make giving to our Camps’ a philanthropic priority.  Our alumni and parent base is strong. Giving back to Camp is one way we show what it means to put “The Other Fellow First.” Each and every contributor makes a difference!

Dudley has a proud tradition of making camp accessible to all families regardless of their capacity to pay.  We are committed to making our program affordable for all. To ensure this, we have a robust scholarship program funded in large part from our Annual Fund contributions. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, and a vigorous effort is made to seek out deserving boys and girls.  Approximately 25% of the campers at both Camps were granted scholarship. Total scholarship grants have increased from $532,016 in 2008 to over $800,000 in 2014. Clearly, the generous gifts to the Annual Fund ensure that Dudley and Kiniya continue to help boys and girls. The Annual Fund also provides some of the resources through which our camps engage talented and dedicated leaders. Last year, 100% of the young men and women were veterans of camp. The vast majority of our leaders have spent at least four years at camp prior to leading their own cabins. The challenge each year is to offer these leaders unique opportunities for further personal growth and discovery. Their experiences, while certainly different from those of the campers, are just as essential to future generations.

Outstanding facilities, high-quality equipment, and enhanced safety procedures like Dudley possesses require constant maintenance or replacement. Our campuses are noted for their beautiful appearance and functional nature. The Annual Fund is flexible enough to be applied across the budget, ensuring that demands are reasonably and promptly met.

Your belief in our mission and your commitment to the Annual Fund will preserve the camp experience for the 131th consecutive summer. Your gift will help us achieve this year’s Annual Fund goal.
