Adirondack Explorer: Special Discount Available to the Dudley & Kiniya Family
In December, #8276 Charlie Updike introduced our Camps to Tracy Ormsbee, the publisher of Adirondack Explorer. Tracy and Charlie visited Camp and had a socially distant tour with Matt Storey and Dave Langston. Tracy was pleased to see the Dudley physical plant after hearing about it for so many years from Charlie. As a result of this relationship, we hope that the Adirondack Explorer will help us tell the story of Camp Dudley and Camp Kiniya’s work with our campers.
The Adirondack Explorer is dedicated to promoting the wise use, public enjoyment and lasting protection of the Adirondack Park. Their reporters dig deeply into the issues on which the future of the park rests—the impact of climate change on our ecosystem, the challenges of keeping our waters clean and our wilderness areas wild, and the health and economic vitality of Adirondack communities.
First published in 1998, the nonprofit Explorer gets the message out through its bimonthly magazine and its digital offerings, including the Adirondack Explorer the Adirondack Almanack, and weekly and daily email newsletters (sign up here). The Explorer offers daily news on AdirondackExplorer.org and a wide variety of Adirondack voices, subjects, and commentary on AdirondackAlmanack.com.
The magazine is also available in digital form. In addition to six magazines a year, subscribers receive the Annual Outings Guide, which is a yearly collection of the best excursion stories from the Explorer. It will help you plan your own Adirondack adventures.
A Dudley Discount!
Tracy and Adirondack Explorer are offering Camp alumni, family, and friends a significant discount to the digital content. Says Tracy, “We would like to encourage friends and alumni of Dudley and Kiniya to consider a digital subscription right now, through the app version of the bi-monthly magazine and its annual Outings Guide. In addition to the magazine’s stories, the digital subscription also includes video, photo galleries, and links to past coverage. It’s $10 for a year, but we are pleased to offer it to Dudley friends for $5 with the code 5FORDUDLEY
