Happy New Year!

We are so thankful for the opportunity to lead a community that is resilient in the face of hardships and that spreads love and joy and hope for a brighter future – even when we are not together on the shores of Lake Champlain. 

In 2020, we found truth in the words Camp is “more than a place” and we are so deeply grateful for your overwhelming support and encouragement through it all. It’s been a real comfort to know our camp families love Dudley and Kiniya as we do, and a true joy to feel that camp spirit in anticipation of our next summer together.

Getting through 2020 while keeping our community safe, engaged, and connected would not have been possible without our donors and friends who stretched to keep Camp strong. Look at some of what you accomplished!

• A six-week virtual taste of Camp was provided to the 2020 Campers by summer staff and leaders.
• Leadership grants were offered to 2020 Leaders in support of their financial position during the summer without Camp.
• Friends and alumni nationwide joined our In It for the Long Haul, and More Than A Place campaigns to support the 2020 Annual Fund we nicknamed “Weathering The Storm”.
• Our online network and connection remained strong, as physical distance was the “new normal.”

Most notably, through the last six weeks of 2020, we offered a huge challenge to our Community. Having secured a Matching Fund, we needed to raise an additional $600,000 by December 31st to release the match in order to end the year without incurring additional debt. In true Dudley and Kiniya fashion, our community showed up and together we met the challenge. As the New Year’s clock struck midnight, it was clear that all matching funds had been claimed! 

So today, we THANK YOU and invite you to join us by letting out a loud and rousing cheer for the camps and the community you love. Ready?  D-U-D …  0-5-4-4-6! …  

Like all of you, we are excited to cheer the end of 2020 and look to the future with hope and optimism as we work hard to re-open our gates in 2021!
