Charlie is a partner in the law firm of Akin Gump, in Washington DC and represents clients on energy, environmental, automotive, health care and homeland security issues. He previously served as a law clerk to the House Judiciary Committee and remains active in Democratic politics, including volunteering for presidential and congressional campaigns.
Charlie and his wife Dr. JB Loveland, an OB/GYN, live in Maryland with son Mac and daughter Halle, both Dudley and Kiniya campers.
Arriving at Dudley as a Cub in 1977, Charlie served as a leader, and then joined the Board in 1996. He was named to a second term, becoming Chairman in December 2003. This Board was instrumental in the expansion of the Dudley mission to recognize girls and women, leading to the acquisition of Camp Kiniya in 2006.
