What do you do at Camp in the off-season?

Snow Shoeing to Albany Island during Father Son Weekend

Father/Son, Camp Dudley Winter Adventure, February 7-9, 2014.

Father/Son Weekend is the second oldest of our year-round programs and a perfect way to have those who will be new campers experience a fun filled stay at Camp Dudley. The weekend is centered on outdoor activities, and winter in Westport seldom disappoints. This adventure includes a snowy hike, a climb on the big wall in Sommer Hall, a walk (yes, a walk) on Lake Champlain and lots of hearty food. While we encourage those who will be first time campers to attend, we have never had to turn away any of our veterans, so this event is open until the spaces are filled. This weekend will help get your boy comfortable in his surroundings and introduce him to many other boys who will be attending Camp with him in the upcoming summer. Contact Davo at (518) 962-4720 or write to him at davo@campdudley.org. This event is for boys ages 8-14 and their dads. A fee of $225.00 per person is charged.

Mother/Daughter, Camp Dudley Spring Adventure, TBD

Mother/Daughter Weekend started before Camp Dudley was fortunate enough to be able to offer a girls’ camping experience. After the acquisition of Camp Dudley at Kiniya on the Colchester, Vermont property in 2006, Mother/Daughter Weekend has grown into a vibrant and vital adventure that attracts families looking to make some wonderful winter memories. Moms and their girls come up and stay in the heated facilities in Westport, New York. The event includes a ride to Kiniya, a brisk morning snowshoe around our beautiful campus in Colchester and a cook-out lunch on Kiniya’s main campus. Then it’s back to Westport for the challenges offered by a scoot up the climbing wall and a relaxing game of moms versus daughters in dodge ball – or maybe some checkers. We think you’ll find the Mother/Daughter Weekend a fun and unique way for you to connect with each other while introducing new families to the Dudley program. Girls ages 8-14 are encouraged to attend. A fee of $225.00 per person is charged. Contact Davo at (518) 962-4720 or write to him at davo@campdudley.org.

Work Weekends

All planted, What’s Next?!

Spring Work Weekend – Camp Dudley, May 16-18, 2014.

This is the oldest of our shoulder programs and the ranks are filled with seasoned alums and new families who come to witness the Dudley Spirit firsthand. While there is much to do in Westport, in the past few years, we’ve also expanded our Spring Work Weekend to include some work on the Vermont side of the lake. There is no lodging in Colchester for this event, but there is plenty to do and we welcome your requests to be a part of the CDK workforce. Our spring attendance numbers fall in the 75 to 95 range, so get on the radar early. All ages are welcome to attend and food and lodging in Westport are free. Contact Marnie marnie@campdudley.org or Davo at davo@campdudley.org for more details or to RSVP.

Kiniya Work Weekenders!

Fall Work Weekend – Camp Dudley at Kiniya, TBD.

Marnie, Mike and Shawn welcome all ages to attend the Fall Work Weekend in Colchester, VT, at Camp Dudley at Kiniya. If you still have not attended this event, you will want to come and take in the beauty that is our girls’ campus in the early fall. If you’ve been before, you’ll want to see all the wonderful additions to this magical locale and reconnect with the faithful group who’ll be back to help us put the Vermont campus to bed for the winter. More than 70 people participated in last year’s effort and the accomplishments were many. Please join us for this fun and productive weekend. Food and lodging are free.
