•From Camp Dudley (without taking a ferry) Take the Northway to Exit #39. Follow directions #2.
1. From Route 89:
Take I-89, getting off at exit 17 (Lake Champlain Islands). Make a right off the exit ramp onto Route 2, (West toward South Hero). About three miles down, Clay Point Road comes in on the left. Due to traffic patterns, you need to take the right jug handle and then take a left. Proceed over Route 2 and take the first right onto Camp Kiniya Road. Follow this road until the end—the camp is on the left at the end of the road.
2. From Plattsburgh:
Take 87 North to exit 39, and follow signs for the Cumberland Head Ferry. Follow route 314 to the ferry and take it across Lake Champlain. (The Cumberland Head Ferry runs every 20 minutes, 24 hours a day, all year long and the cost is about $15 per trip.) When you arrive in Vermont, follow signs to Route 2 east toward Burlington. Take Route 2 for about 7 miles, through the town of South Hero and over the sandbar causeway. After the causeway, take the second right onto Clay Point Road. Take the first right onto Camp Kiniya Road. Follow this road until the end—the Camp is on the left at the end of the road.
3. From Crown Bridge:
Crown Point Bridge is closed, however, there is a free 24-hour ferry. For information about this, please check Lake Champlain Transportation website at: www.ferries.com as the summer approaches.
Greyhound Bus service is available from Port Authority in New York City to Burlington, VT. We will
arrange to pick up your daughter once you have provided us her schedule.
By Plane to Burlington, Vermont:
Burlington Airport is served by many airlines, including JetBlue, USAir, Continental, Delta and United. Your daughter’s flight should be scheduled to arrive at the Burlington, VT Airport on opening day of her session (as noted above). We prefer that your daughter arrive before 1 PM. There may be some cases when girls need to arrive later in the day. Please let the Office know (in advance) of any arrivals after 3:00 PM
Camp Dudley at Kiniya will arrange ground transportation from the Burlington Airport to Camp. You must let us know the time of arrival, airline and flight number. We will have a representative meet your daughter at the airport. Return Flight: Your daughter’s return flight on the last day of her session must be scheduled between 8am – 3pm. Do not schedule a flight after 3 PM, since transportation to the airport cannot be arranged.
For All Girls Under the Age of 12 Traveling by Plane:
Most airlines consider girls under the age of 12 to be “an unaccompanied minor.” Check with your airline to ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed and in the child’s possession when she flies. She will need these papers on both her outbound and return flights. We cannot be responsible for this required paperwork—it can only be completed by parents or guardians.
If you are interested in coordinating group transportation for girls in your area either by public conveyance or by charter, contact the Camp Office. We can assist you by providing contact information for other campers in the vicinity. In your acceptance packet, we have provided postcards for you to use to notify us of how your daughter is arriving/departing. If you have any questions call the Camp Office at 802-893-7850 or the Westport Office at 518-962-4720.
